Make Your Images Real Again.

Instant, client-side AI metadata removal. Free & private. Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP image to remove C2PA Content Credentials, AI tags, EXIF and GPS data. Nothing is uploaded, and the picture is not re-compressed.

Free AI Metadata Remover & Cleanser

AI image generators like Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, DALL-E, ChatGPT and Photoshop embed C2PA Content Credentials, IPTC AI source fields and generator tags in the files they create. Phones and cameras add EXIF data with the device, the time and often the GPS location. PureImage removes all of it in your browser and shows you exactly what it found.

PureImage Offline Edition

Frequently asked questions

Is PureImage free?

Yes. The web tool is free, with no account, no limit on the number of images and no watermark. The Offline Edition is an optional $9 one-time purchase for people who want the cleaner as a file on their own computer.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. PureImage reads and cleans the file inside your browser. The image never leaves your device, which is also why it works on private photos and client work.

Does cleaning lower the image quality?

No for JPG, PNG and WebP in normal cases. PureImage removes the hidden data from the file itself and leaves the picture untouched, so nothing is re-compressed. Only if a file cannot be read that way does it fall back to redrawing the image.

What is removed, and what is kept?

Removed: C2PA Content Credentials, AI generator tags and prompts, XMP, IPTC, EXIF camera and device data, GPS location, embedded thumbnails and comments. Kept: the orientation, so photos are not sideways, and the color profile, so colors stay right.

Does it make an AI image undetectable?

No tool can promise that. PureImage removes the metadata that platforms read for labels such as AI info. Invisible watermarks that are part of the pixels, such as Google's SynthID, visible watermarks and a platform's own image analysis are not metadata and stay. If a platform requires you to disclose AI content, removing metadata does not change that rule.

What is the Offline Edition?

The same cleaner as one small HTML file you keep on your computer. It opens in any browser on Windows, Mac and Linux, works without an internet connection, cleans unlimited images in batch and downloads them as a ZIP. $9 once, no account and no subscription. Buying on a phone is fine: the download link is emailed to you, so you can open it on your computer.
